Types of Aphasia

Aphasias are classified according to damage to the receptive and expressive language areas. The most common types of aphasia are Broca's Aphasia and Wernicke's Aphasia.

Types of Aphasia

According to the Boston aphasia classification, aphasia is roughly divided into fluent and nonfluent. The eight major types of aphasia in the Boston classification are;

Less common than Broca's aphasia, Wernice's aphasia, anomic aphasia, conduction aphasia, global aphasia, and others
types of transcortical aphasia.
